House in Ibiza, Spain, designed by @moredesign.es [IG]The client, related to the world of art, sought to recover the original character of the estate, fleeing from the modern and sometimes ostentatious construction of the Ibizan mansions. β€œThey wanted an open, bright, fun, and hedonistic house,” explains Moredesign. The original house, made up of many small rooms and with an internal circulation that did not work, gave way to more generous common areas, more oversized bedrooms, and a more significant relationship with the outdoor spaces. It is not for nothing that the house is located in central Ibiza, on the slightly elevated ground from where you can glimpse the sea in the distance.Elements of the original structure have been preserved, such as the Posidonia roofs or the juniper and tejel ceilings (the wooden slats between the beams), but above all, the sober charm of the farmhouse. Thus, practically the majority of the furniture is built. Linen, stone, wood, and lime are in their almost natural state. β€œWe like the strength of manual processes and the plastic beauty of the materials that dialogue. We asked the workers to put aside the laser equipment and the square and trust their hands. We wanted the walls to speak of the hand that has covered them.”
