The FBI is looking

The FBI is looking into Biden’s vacation home in Delaware.

This same search, like at least two others undertaken at locations associated with Mr. Biden, was conducted with the president’s and his legal team’s cooperation. It was unclear if any documents were found at the beach house.

“Today, with the president’s full support and cooperation, the Department of Justice is conducting a planned search of his home in Rehoboth, Del.,” Mr. Biden’s personal lawyer, Bob Bauer, said in a statement. “Under D.O.J. standard procedures, it sought to do this work without advance public notice in the interests of operations and maintenance security and integrity, and we agreed to cooperate.”

Mr. Bauer went on to say that he would provide “further information at the end of today’s search.”

The F.B.I. action is the latest in a string of revelations that Mr. Biden, who harshly criticised former President Donald J. Trump’s mishandling of classified government files at his Florida home, kept components that should have been returned to the Archives after leaving office in January 2017.
A spokesman for the Justice Department declined to comment.

On Tuesday, The New York Times reported that the F.B.I. conducted a similar search at the Penn-Biden Center, a Washington think tank, in mid-November after the president’s aides discovered a small cache of secret information there that month.
